CHEESEBURGERS

Named after streets in Los Angeles, these paintings reflect the city's particular relationship to the automobile, fast food, and fantasy. I use the familiar form of the cheeseburger as a framework for painting, exploring how translucent layers of acrylic stain can transform an everyday object into something luminous and unexpected.
